A Moment to Reflect: Where Are You on Your Journey?

Oct 22, 2026

There is something about Fall that seems to invite us to slow down a little and reflect on where we are in our lives. As the days become shorter and the trees begin releasing their leaves, nature is preparing for a period of rest and renewal. It is a reminder that there are seasons for growth and activity, but there are also times when we need to turn our attention inward and consider where we are and where we might want to go.

I have been thinking about this quite a bit lately, particularly as I navigate some changes in my own life while also working on several projects that I am excited about. There are so many things I want to create and explore, and I sometimes find myself becoming so focused on everything I want to accomplish that I forget to stop and consider whether I am giving my attention to the things that matter most to me.

I imagine I am not alone in that experience. Between our responsibilities, commitments, and everything happening in the world around us, it can be easy to become caught up in the doing and lose sight of what we actually want to experience in our lives.

One of the quotes I have been reflecting on recently comes from Sara Landon: “Stillness is the access point to acceleration.”

I love this because we often associate making progress with doing more, working harder, or finding ways to accomplish things more quickly. But sometimes the most useful thing we can do is stop for a moment and give ourselves an opportunity to consider where we are and whether the direction we are moving is actually taking us where we want to go.

For me, stillness does not necessarily mean sitting in meditation for an extended period of time. It can be as simple as taking a few minutes away from everything competing for our attention, allowing ourselves to become present, and considering what we might need in that moment.

And when we give ourselves that opportunity to reflect, we may begin to see things a little differently.

That is really the foundation of something I have been developing through my work called the Three Ps of Transformation: Perspective, Possibility, and Purposeful Action.

The idea is that when we begin looking at a situation from a different perspective, we may recognize possibilities that were not apparent to us before. And once we become aware of those possibilities, we can consider what purposeful actions might help us move toward the experiences we want to create.

For example, perhaps there is something in your life that you have been wanting to change, but you have been putting it off because you are not quite sure how to begin. You might have convinced yourself that you do not have enough time, that the circumstances are not right, or that making a change would be too difficult.

Taking a moment to reflect might help you recognize that some of those beliefs are based on assumptions you have been carrying for a long time. And once you begin questioning those assumptions, you may discover options you had not considered, including small changes you could begin making right now.

Of course, sometimes our circumstances are genuinely challenging, and changing our perspective does not automatically change the situation. But it may help us recognize where we have choices and what we can do with the opportunities available to us.

This is one of the things I appreciate most about the Three Ps. We can use them to explore almost any situation, whether we are navigating a challenge, considering a new direction, or simply feeling that something in our lives is ready for a change.

And we do not necessarily need to know exactly where we want to go before we begin exploring.

Exploring Your Own Transformational Journey

I have recently added a new Transformational Journey section to my website, where I am bringing together free resources to help people explore what they are experiencing and discover tools that might support them.

The idea is simple. We all find ourselves at different places in our lives, and what is helpful for one person may not be what someone else needs at that moment.

Perhaps you are feeling stuck, navigating a life change, worrying about what comes next, or simply recognizing that you are ready for something different. The Transformational Journey resources offer an opportunity to begin with where you are right now, explore a different perspective, and consider what possibilities might be available to you.

You will find reflection prompts, energy exercises, and other practical tools that you can explore at your own pace. My hope is that you will discover something that helps you see your circumstances a little differently or gives you an idea for a purposeful next step.

As we move through Fall, I invite you to take a little time for yourself and consider where you are on your own journey. Are you happy with the direction things are moving? Is there something you have been wanting to explore or change? Or perhaps you simply need a little time to reconnect with what is important to you.

Whatever your answers might be, perhaps this season offers an opportunity to begin exploring them.

And if you would like a little support along the way, I would love for you to visit the Transformational Journey section the homepage at robbikearns.com and see what resonates with you.

I would also love to hear what you discover as you take a little time to reflect.

Sending love and light to you all!
